At the age of  9, she ventured into the world of Veena inspired by veenai artists Rajesh Vaidhya and E. Gayathri. Her first Guru was Smt. Jaya Kottamasu of Atlanta, Georgia. Later on, she learnt from Smt. Priya Chandrasekaran of Atlanta, Georgia who is a direct disciple of Smt. Ranganayaki Rajagopalan and Smt. Kamala Aswathama. She further received advanced training under Smt. Nivedita Shivraj of Queens, New York who is a direct disciple of Sri. Chitti Babu. Currently, she is learning from Kalaimamani Rajesh Vaidhya, Dr. Jaishree Prasad of Chicago who completed her PhD in veenai history and veenai music, and  Kaza Subhashini Sastry of Bangalore who is a professor of Carnatic Music and Ethnomusicology as well as a professional veenai artist.
