Shipra

Shipra recently graduated from Christ Church Episcopal School with High Honors as an IB student. She is a 2016 National Merit Finalist, four-time National Spanish Exam Gold Medalist and received the Presidential Service Award in Bronze. She participates in the Environmental Club, Orchestra, Delphian Literary Magazine, Youth in Government, and Varsity Volleyball. Shipra also volunteers at Greenville Hospital System and Greenville Free Medical Clinic. 

 

Shipra began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 7 under Guru Smt. Sunitha Raj and has performed at over 40 cultural events and community outreach programs in Greenville, Greer, Furman University, Clemson University, and beyond. Moreover, she has performed in various dance and drama roles in all of Nrithyanjali School of Dance’s productions, including “Ramayana,” “Shiva Shakti,” “Krishna,” and “Dashavatar.”

 

Shipra has also been invested in other performing arts from a young age. Outside of Bharatanatyam, she has performed in several Bollywood and semi-classical type dances over the years. Additionally, Shipra began playing the violin in her school’s orchestra from fifth grade and has participated in numerous programs, from volunteer events to evening banquets.
